Miraculous Medals for Confirmation & First Communion Classes
It is with the warmest hearts that we offer First Communion & Confirmation candidates across the nation the special token of Miraculous Medals to mark the beginning of their spiritual journey.
The Miraculous Medal serves as a symbolic reminder of the love of Jesus Christ and to increase our confidence in His Mother’s help. The Blessed Virgin Mary is said to have “designed” the medal during her conversation with St. Catherine Labouré, a French nun who was a member of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul, and is a Marian visionary. In one of the apparitions to the young nun the Blessed Virgin is quoted saying “The people who wear it with confidence will receive great graces.”
October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary, and the Blessed Virgin Mary. We hope our youngsters will continue this long-standing Catholic tradition of wearing the Miraculous Medal with pride and faith.
An Act of Consecration to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal
O Virgin Mother of God, Mary Immaculate, at the message of an angel,
you received the Word of God, in your heart and in your womb and
gave Life to the world. O Temple of the Living God, Throne of the Eternal
King, Sanctuary of the Holy Spirit, we consecrate ourselves to you Lady of the
Miraculous Medal.
May the Medal be a sign of your love for us and a witness of our devotion to
you. May your promise to St. Catherine Labouré bring grace to us and peace
to all who say
“O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you.” X 3
